Biography

From the SF Bay Area, V-No played the trumpet, made rap beats, and hosted rap battles growing up. An internship at SF’s no. 1 hip-hop radio station helped him land employment by 2006. Needing to help at home, he left his early industry career in 2009. Ultimately, the family business closed in 2012 and he felt lost. Returning to college, he got a degree in audio engineering and his professional career relaunched in an unexpected way.

Come 2015, V-No entered the San Francisco tech start-up world. Quickly climbing the ladder at a renowned unicorn company, his new profession just as quickly became less about music and more about the corporate life.

Revisiting his creative side during the COVID-19 pandemic, V-No explored purely instrumental music made with emotion and personal meaning. Deeply affected by his awakening to world politics, social injustices, and corporate America, he dove deeper into the human condition as a middle-aged millennial. He rediscovered that composing music is his true therapeutic outlet.

20 years after first opening Fruity Loops 3 in 2001, V-No finally began distributing his music independently. He now explores the world of sync by composing music for TV/film. He is open to work with libraries, publishers, and music supervisors.
